How Rwanda is wrong about Uganda ?
1. The dictator Paul Kagame claims that Uganda is jealous
about Rwandan miracles of development. But Uganda is far more developed than
Rwanda in all sectors. Kagame has prevented Rwandan people from migrating
to Uganda to seek land, food and medical care. In Rwanda there is no more
agricultural land. All finished ! The country is overpopulated. All economic
and social development indicators are fake.
2. Kagame has been investing heavily in office and
business buildings in the capital. However, the 90% of Rwandan people who
depend on farming will not use these buildings as agricultural lands. Kagame
cannot created more land to feed his own people.
3. Uganda has hosted Tutsi Refugees for years and even if
Kagame initiated and fought a deadly war that led to genocide and claiming that
he fought the war to ensure that refugees return to Rwanda, many of them are
still in Uganda only for spying on behalf of Rwandan Government. Uganda is
right to clear those residual refugee Tutsis remaining in Uganda who can get
involved in political troubles in the country.
4. The Rwandan Government does not want to hear anyone
talking about Hutu Refugees because they do not exist. Therefore, when Uganda
allows Hutu Refugees to settle in Uganda, Kagame is not happy because
Uganda is recognizing Hutu refugee who do not exit.
5. The tensions between Rwanda and Uganda have been
created by Kagame in order to use Uganda as way of the fighting opposition and
Hutu Refugees. You can only be a friend of Kagame if you kill and fight against
Rwandan Hutu refugees. If you support Rwandan Hutu refugees in accordance
to international refugee conventions, you will get into trouble with Kagame.
6. Uganda wants to manage their resources as sovereign
nation. Kagame wants these resources to be shared with Rwanda. Kagame is
not happy that Entebbe Airport is not used as Kagame wanted by Rwandair. That
Uganda is not interested infrastructural projects that connect Uganda to
Rwanda. Kagame is well known for fighting for resources in other
countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi.
7. Kagame has confirmed recently that he is proud for
having killed more than 2000 Uganda soldiers during the war between Rwanda and
Uganda. The consequences of this war have never been settled for Uganda as a
nation and for the families of these soldiers. These soldiers lost their lives
for nothing in return.
More:
Uganda has replied to Rwandan president Paul Kagame war
remarks during his recent interview with a German newspaper.
In an interview with Belgian media in Brussels, where he
was attending the European Development Days summit (EDD 2019), President Kagame
said: “People fear fighting between us. I don’t see it coming because I think
Uganda understands the cost of it. We don’t want to go down that road because
everyone will lose something.”
Since late February, Rwanda has blocked its citizens from
travelling to Uganda and restricted Ugandan goods from crossing the border.
Political pundits say Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni
has scored a diplomatic point by largely remaining quiet about the tension with
Rwanda.
However, Uganda government continues to accuse Rwanda of
spying on Ugandan soil including conniving with rogue police officers to kidnap
Rwandan dissidents some who have been executed by Kigali authorities while some
still continue to rot in Rwandan dungeons.
According to a brief statement posted by the office of
the NRM national chairman who is president Museveni, Uganda has done nothing to
cause for war with Rwanda.
“Whatever grievances anyone can raise about Uganda, it is
becoming increasingly clear that the Pearl of Africa has done nothing
warranting a break out of hostilities between the two countries. On the
contrary, Rwanda has engaged in all forms of provocation and infringement on
Uganda’s territory. In fact, a war situation has been created on its side of
the border “Statement said.
It added that Uganda is not ready for war but is ready to
defend itself at all times and at whatever cost. “This is not something to be
disputed or to be overemphasized”.
Rwanda has also had diplomatic spats with neighbors
Burundi and the DRC.
He caused chaos in Burundi and hosted Burundian
coup-makers.
Kagame also threatened to kill former Tanzanian president
Jakaya Kikwete for advising him to negotiate and end hostilities with FDLR
rebels fighting his government from DR Congo.
Kagame who publicly called Kikwete “a genocide and
terrorist sympathizer”,“ ignorant ”,“ arrogant and “mediocre leader” threatened
that he would just wait for him at the right place and him.
“Those people [Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete] you
just heard siding with Interahamwe and FDLR and urging negotiations…
negotiations? Me, I do not even discuss this topic, because I will just
wait for you [Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete] at the right place and I will
hit you! He [Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete] did not deserve my answer. I did
not waste my time answering him…It is well known. There is a line you cannot
cross; there is a line, a line that you should never cross. It is impossible…”“
Kagame said.
It’s a tradition in his improvised speeches to hear Paul
Kagame spit his anger and express his contempt for Western donors and other
foreigners who do not share his peculiar ideas about governance and political
freedom.
He does not miss any opportunity to slam what he calls
their attempts to give him lessons, while he has no lesson to receive from
anybody.
